The story
The client
William Hill is one of the world's leading betting and gaming companies. It is based in London and employs over 12,000 people.
It has licensed betting shops across Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and is one of the country's leading online betting and gaming services.
The situation
William Hill had a mix of old and newly added reporting systems. Its marketing team could not analyse campaign performance in one place.
Keeping many reports up to date was manual and repetitive, and mistakes were easy to make. The team needed all this data in one place, and a simpler way to report. It had to work in Microsoft Excel.
What we did
We ran William Hill's in-app display campaigns for a year.
We brought all in-app display data into one central source. We built it with Microsoft Power BI and Power Pivot, so the team could read it in Excel. We also built the report templates.
We worked with their BI team throughout.
The results
The team could track campaign performance and costs in real time. They could build any report at any level of detail, and give insights to senior management when needed.
Marketing managers saved many hours of work every week. They knew their data was always up to date and correct.
What happened next
Our data source and report templates became the prototype for a later project by William Hill's in-house BI team. That team used them to bring its data together and build its own dashboards.
Polina NashHead of Digital Media, William Hill“I've had the pleasure of working with Outflink for a year. I found the team to be very professional, and true experts in navigating the complex world of in-app display. They've also done an incredible job in developing automation across reporting by merging various sources of data to produce easily accessible performance insights.”
